This is Dayna, a cute girl, recent high school runner, runs a fast mile. She talked her parents into having the pro runners stay at her house during the Falmouth Road Race. They let me spend a couple nights there as well which was awesome.

I crave a glorious sabbath day. When all you do is center your day around worshiping the Lord and enjoy being with family and friends. This summer in Jersey our Sunday's have been a little different, not bad, just different..... Last Sunday I was in Massachusetts with my sister Kassi watching her race in the Falmouth Road Race. Therefore I missed church, which always seems to effect my spirit. And although I don't regret being there with Kassi watching her race, which is what she does best, my week still feels a little empty..... I am craving that burning spirit within... like when I hear a beautiful musical number in sacrament meeting, or listen to the stories of Christ that remind you of what you should be doing in life, and what is most important. I am grateful for the scriptures and for prayer to help fill that void of missing church. Here is a clip that I watched on LDS.org that made me cry thinking of my mom and sisters (in-laws), and how much I love and miss seeing them often.

I discovered this delicious cookie on the plane flying somewhere I can't remember now... but as I was at Walmart looking for some snacks for a 5 hour drive back to New Jersey from Massachusetts I found them!!! In a huge package! Biscoff European Cookies.... mmmm! I didn't realize just how much I would love them until this drive home. Now I am trying to keep my self from eating the entire package alone. MMMmm You should try them.

Engaged in Englewood New Jersey

Well, my camera broke 3 days ago the evening of my friends wedding, so somehow I lost all the pictures I have taken in the last week. LuckilyI have a warranty so my camera is being fixed for free, or else I get a new one.

So without my pictures of the eventful past couple weeks let me give you an up date. John is selling APX Alarms this summer in New Jersey and I wanted to be able to work out there once we were married so APX offered me a job as an Office Assistant which is the typical job for the wives, and despite the long hours and the crapy pay I decided to take it so that I could be with John.

The interesting part is that we live separately for the first couple months, each with our own set of roommates, and then after we get married we will have our own apartment together. But it is working out ever so nicely and I didn't know that being engaged could be so fun. Yes we both work late hours and don't see each other too much. But every morning and every Sunday is a treat!

We traveled into the city (NYC) the past two Sundays and attended church there and spent the rest of the day just kickin around the city. Englewood New Jersey is a cool little city as well. This is our Apartment complex below It is taking us a little while to become familiar with our surroundings but everyday is an adventure. I love it.

Up date on Killing The Fat

I've been doing pretty well... some nights I have a weak moments and I indulge in a doughnut, or I crave french fries, but all in all I've been eating better and exercising at least 4 times a week. I think I've lost about 6 lbs since I last made the challenge to kill the fat over a month ago, and I'm feel good. John and I take our engagement pictures tonight so that should be fun.. But I hope to trim down just a few extra pounds before my wedding. :) I mean, if there is one time in your life you want to look your best and be the healthiest, it would be on you wedding day right? Yeah! That's the plan!
I have found that I only know how to take baby steps, it may take me a little while to change my habits from childhood, eating whatever and whenever I want and never worry about gaining weight, but I think my baby steps will be a long lasting result! I am learning to choose better foods when I eat, and to get out and exercise even when I don't feel motivated. It’s hard when I don't have a set practice given by my coach everyday, but I enjoy running on my own and doing different exercises that I feel are good for me. And spring is here!!!! That means I am always looking for excuses to be outside in the nice mild weather!! Oh I hope it sticks around! LIFE is Grand, wedding plans are coming along nicely, finals are almost over, and we take off to New Jersey this weekend for the summer....don't worry we come back to Utah to get married on June 30th in the Salt Lake Temple.. Wahoooo, I can't wait!

First of all I wanted to show you the Man of my dreams, and my beautiful ring before I even begin my story!

It all started with Johns spontaneous idea to drive down to Southern California for the weekend, just for fun I guess! So we just picked up and left! It was a great weekend too! We spent some time with his Grandfather (pa-paw) and family at his cottage in Laguna Beach; we went to a shooting rage, and shot a couple different kinds of guns with his brother-in-law Micah. We went to Huntington Beach with his buddy Corb and enjoyed the warm sunny weather.
THAN.....That night......Saturday March 7th
John took me out for a nice fancy dinner at the Salt Creek Grill not far from the beach.
John claimed he had an up-set stomach and kept getting up to go to the bathroom, he hardly touched his food. Although later I found out that he was making phone calls to family members in the bathroom making sure everything was going as planned.
And he didn't eat because he was so nervous...he lost his apatite!

After dinner we decided to take a stroll down to the Ritz Carlton Hotel where it sits up on a cliff over looking the beach. We had walked around there once before; it has beautiful landscaping and look out points, and being such a beautiful clear night.... what could be better than taking a romantic night time stroll to look out over the coast! LOVE!

At one particular spot something caught my eye as I looked down at the beach...... in the sand I saw colorful words pointing right in my direction saying "JULIE MARRY ME?" At first I couldn't quite see the "JULIE" part so I really wasn't sure if that was for me.

So I turned around to John and he was on one knee with the ring in his hand!!

Breathless, surprised, excited, happy, happy happy freaking out.....

Than he told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him.... so i knelt down to his level and said yes many times..... :) Happy happy moment.....

The Ring was ridiculously blinging and sparkly.... he must have asked the moon to shine extra bright that night so that I could see the ring sparkle!Its a little too hard to see with the camera.... but this is where you could see the glow sticks on the beach "JULIE MARRY ME?" Its a very faint glow right next to my hair.

John is genius!

We walked down to the beach to meet up with "the engagement crew" John's family and friends. What a perfect night!

I JOINED A WOMENS RUGBY TEAM!!! The Lady Steelers Baby!

Yup! I did! I know it seems crazy, but I actually love it. I'm love playing team sports. A lady I play volleyball with found out that I ran track at BYU and invited me to come to a rugby practice to see if I like it. She said that they had plenty of big girls and needed more quick girls.

I have never played a contact sport before so that worried me a little. But I decided to give it a try. Now I'm offically on the team! I've been learning the positions and plays of the game, and the part that is crazy is that I'm leaning how to tackle! Since I am a "smaller" girl and could easily get taken out by the bigger poly girls, they teach me techniques that help me take down anyone no matter what size... and I'm getting really good at it too!

I just never realized how much self gratification came from tackling! Yet, I also didn't know how sore you feel the next day! It's a really cool sport for all of you that have never watched a rugby game. It like a combination of soccer and football.. sort of. I will be playing "winger" position which is the very back position of the line up next to the side line. They tell me that this is the "fast running and scoring" position so I'm not a main tackler although I may have to do it ... and people will try to tackling me....I'll just have to sprint and dodge all those girls ha ha.

I'm pretty excited! Practices are really fun, and I have a cool team. We do a lot of conditioning and drills to learn the game. I love being on a team again. So anyone that wants to come to my first game March 14th... is totally welcome to! 11am, at the Steelers field which is off Geneva Rd and Provo Center street.

Awaiting the Warmth

Those few days of warm weather were such a tease! Utah will do that to you! For the sunny and warm day or two that we had..I was sick and had to stay inside.... and now its cold again! ahhh I missed it! The sun shine will trick you too! You wake up in the morning.. look out side and see the sun shining so bright...and warm... so you were a t-shirt and leave your jacket at home... but then you realize it is NOT warm at all....just sunny! No clouds in sight but still freezing! How does that work? If its sunny.. it should be warm; who cares what month it is!

Honestly I'm just craving to play some sand volleyball so bad! I had a little chat with my buddy that lives in Huntington Beach California who is training professionally for sand volleyball.... and they train year round! Cause when the sun shines in Cali... you can bet on it being warm! Gosh I'm so jealous!

New Color--Feels so Good!

I decided to darken my hair. I wanted to get it done professionally, but it would have been $75.00 which I don't have... so I bought some Loreal hair dye on sale at Smiths for $6.00. Saving me a wauping $69.00!

I actually cut my own hair as well!

I know that was a little risky, but I was feeling a little impatient to go get that done in a salon as well, so trimmed the length, and then added some layers! It's not perfect but I feel pretty good about it. Plus my boyfriend John really likes it, and his opinion is the one I care about... so thats good.

I also cut John's hair which went from long and shaggy to his usual short yet lucious hair. He liked it, so I guess I passed the test!

KILL THE FAT

I am Offically joining in on the challange to kill the fat that my sister in law Chelsea has unknowingly motivated me to do. I want to run a half marathon, have long lean legs, killer abs, and maybe look the best ever in wedding pictures. :) ya know.... some day.

The other night I went to dinner with some girl friends of mine (Meredith and Jessica) and when they started talking about doing the Salt Lake half marathon and/or 25 mile bike ride, I realized how NOT excited I was about doing it with them, or even training for it, and I was supposed to be an athlete? Also watching Americas Next Top Model last night reminded me of modeling and although I DO NOT want to be THAT skinny.... I figured I could trim up and maybe try it out again.. I don't know.. we'll see. 10 lbs by my birth day March 18th... I can do that! Bring it on!

I was reading my sister-in-law Katie's responses to these questions on her blog, and decided I wanted to answer them as well..... And I think it will be a good TO-DO List for the rest of my life. :)
1. Started your own blog- yes, it was all me, with encouragement from my friend Diana.
2. Slept under the stars- Yes, I think the first time was camping in Fruita near Boulder Mountain with my family and cousins, or it could have been on the trampoline in my backyard and the very best was in Lake Powell, oh how I miss Powell
3. Played in a band- OH I WISH, I plan to learn the guitar some day, at least just one song that I can sing to, and maybe perform.
4. Visited Hawaii- NO! :( I've dreamt about going many many times
5. Watched a meteor shower- Yes, it was in Heber with a ton of friends one summer, I distinctly remember sharing a love-sac with a very attractive guy in the middle of a big field.
6. Given more than you can afford to charity- I remember being in Mexico once, and giving some of my spending money to some little kids begging, but it wasn't more than I could afford. I guess I'm a little selfish in that way.
7. Been to Disneyland- Yes, most of my first memories as a little girl came from that magical place, I love it!
8. Climbed a mountain- Yes indeed, Mount Timpanogos, as well as Mount Olympus (not an easy hike what so ever)
9. Made your own Clothing- I made a skirt and some pants once, but I didn't really wear them. ha ha
10. Sang a solo- Yes, 8th grade-Girls Ensemble Choir, I sand "One Fine Day"
11. Bungee jumped
12. Visited Paris- Yes indeed, I met my Dad and sister Kassi there. Ha ha a trip to remember!
13. Watched a lightning storm at sea-Yes I distinctly remember one, it was in Florida, Kassi and I were running on the Beach in the rain watching the lightning hit the ocean in the distance. We also ran into an Alligator, which scared that crap out of us, because we thought it was a log at first, and then it started charging! Kassi ran all the way back to the house to get the camera, while I stayed and watched it. That part was scary too, all alone in the rain on an empty white beach starring at an alligator that probably wanted to eat me.
14. Taught your self an art from scratch- um? I taught myself to do my own makeup ..LOL does that count? ha ha
15. Adopted a child
16. Had food poisoning- Yup, the most recent was over thanksgiving from eating a BRC burrito at Pollo Loco in Cali
17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty- Yes, when I was 13, we stayed in the Twin Towers!
18. Grown your own vegetables- Yes, all growing up. Home grown tomatoes are my very favorite, ooo and cucumbers.
19. Seen the Mona Lisa in France- Yes, there was an enormous crowd around the picture, and I was hard to actually get to it, but yeah I saw it! It's cool
20. Slept on an overnight train- Oh I want to, I've done the bus thing many times
21. Had a pillow fight- oh yeah, but have you ever had a sock fight? Now that is fun!
24. Built a snow fort- Yeah, we built it around the trampoline poles. And of course my brother Jacob has to come along and take over my fort to make it even better.
25. Held a lamb, I held a goat once, does that count
26. Gone skinny dipping- Oh yeah, the first time was right after I broke up with an old boyfriend in January my sophomore year at BYU. I was with 3 of my girlfriends. We drove down to Utah Lake for a bomb fire, but instead we decided to go to the docks and strip down and jump in the freezing water. It was the most exhilarating feeling in the world. Hilarious! We plan to have a Dock reunion soon! ha ha
27. Run a Marathon- its in my to-do list
28. Ridden in a gondola in Venice- No, but I think it is a perfect place to be with a lover!
29. Seen a total eclipse- Yes, once in 3rd grade I think
30. Watched a sunrise or sunset- Oh Yeah! I watched the sunrise in the park with a few friends after the Senior All Night Party after High School Graduation.
31. Hit a home run- In Kick ball
32. Been on a cruise- No but I want to go on one for my Honeymoon someday.
33. Seen Niagara Falls in person-

35. Seen an Amish community- Yes, it was driving through some po-dunk place in Southern Utah, they ride carriages and don't have electricity! Weird, but whatever!
36. Taught yourself a new language- actually yeah, my cousins and I have this language called double dutch or something that we would always speak in when we went places like the Mall or Seven Peaks.
37. Had enough money to be truly satisfied- Its a work in progress

41. Sung karaoke- YES, One time I went country dancing by myself because non of my friends wanted to go. So I met these 2 cool guys that were cute and really good dancers and they invited me to go to a Karaoke Place after dancing, so being the spontaneous person I am I went with the guys. Anyway, I ended up singing a country love duet with a guy named Justin, and we sounded pretty good! Later we ended up dating, but after awhile I decided he needed a girl that was a little more Hick than I am.

43. Bought a stranger a meal at a restaurant
44. Visited Africa
45. Walked on a beach by moonlight- One of my favorite memories. I was in Avalon, New Jersey with my boy friend John, and we made out on top of a Life Guard stand in the moon light on the beach! SO HOT, that’s when I decided I could definitely see myself marrying John. He can be a very romantic guy!
46. Been transported in an ambulance-
47. Had your portrait painted- Yes, my mom painted it, she is incredible!
48. Gone deep sea fishing- kind of, I was in Mexico with my brother, his friend, and my sister visiting my dad, we went on a boat with a guide to go fishing and pulled up some lobster traps. That night we had a 18 Lobster Feast on the balcony of my Grandpas Shack in Mexico over looking the ocean! good memories
49. Seen the Sistine Chapel in person
50. Been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris- OH yeah! its pretty fabulous!
51. Gone scuba diving or snorkeling- snorkeling in Mexico, Kind of ha ha
52. Kissed in the rain- Yes, but what I think was even better was in a hidden park in the sprinklers on a summer night.
53. Played in the mud- Oh YEAH, I was on a big group date and we went to the hot springs in Lehi and ended up rolling through the mud. You couldn't tell who was who.
54. Gone to a drive-in theater- Yes, a group date, (a blind date for my best friend, who ended up marrying her date)
55. Been in a movie- It was a high school film ha ha
56. Visited the Great Wall of China
57. Started a business- I had a lemonade and cookie stand when I was little :)

60. Served at a soup kitchen- Yes, with my family on Christmas Eve when I was little.

67. Bounced a check- well I've had some over draft fees from not budgeting correctly...whoops! That is one way to learn a lesson the hard way.

69. Saved a favorite childhood toy- I gave my very favorite bear to my first nephew Gabe when he was little, he loved that floppy little bear.

71. Eaten Caviar- Yes, I had it once at a run way show in New York, I didn't really like it
72. Pieced a quilt- Just made a a quilt for my boy friend for this Christmas, although it wasn't one of the really hard detailed quilts, but he loves it.
73. Stood in Times Square- Yes, it's a fun place to be, I had a photo shoot there for the Rollingstones magazine when I was 16. I was one of hundreds of girls in a huge crowd. LOL, probably didn't even see me in the picture, but I felt pretty famous at the moment.

87. Killed and prepared an animal for eating- My Dad loved to buy fresh live lobster or clams and cook them up for special occations. One time when the Lobster was sitting in the sink awaiting his firey pot of boiling water, Cricket our silly Cat discovered how fun it was to pester this poor animal. So he was fliddling around with it with his paws just bugging it a bit; soon enough that Lobster snaped Crickets tail with his sharp plyers and Cricket was freaking out flopping all over the counter for a couple seconds, than finally the Lobster let go. LOL serves him right I guess.
88. Had chickenpox- Yeah, not the funest thing

Saved someone’s life- well not exactly.....when I was out to eat with some friends and thier family, a guy sitting next to me started choaking and gagging..so I asked him if he was all right... a few times and started lightly hitting him on the back..... than he stood up and grabbed that big kid next to me (David Kruger) and motioned for him to give him the hymlic manuver (not sure how to spell that) So David did it, and a huge piece of meat shot out! Saved his life! I was a little bumbed I wasn't the one to give him the Hymlic... I felt fully prepared to since I had just passed my first aid certification...oh well, at least the guy survived.
91. Met someone famous- I shook Mohamed Ali's hand once when I was in NYC, he did a magic trick for my sister and I, we felt pretty cool.
92. Joined a book club- Yes although I'm not very active in it.
93. Lost a loved one- Yes, my brother, my Grandpa Frog, and a best friend Codie Taylor.

97. Been involved in a law suit- well I went to court once to plead guilty on a ticket I had received. I was only 16 and I was scared, to be in the court room.
98. Owned a cell phone- yeah, Senior year of high school I had one that I hardly could use, but then I had my officially first one in college.
99. Been stung by a bee- Yes on the neck, and once on the thigh while I was biking.

104. Had a pet rat- I had pet 3 mice once, and I would find the cage pushed over with a mouse in my cat's (Cricket) mouth. Still alive, but the poor mouse was terrified! That cat has gotten away with way too many things!

Well, I pulled an all-nighter Christmas Eve, finished John's blanket, and flew to Cali for a Christmas morning surprise! Since my family celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve, I decided to plan a surprise trip to see John on Christmas day. His brother in-law, Micah, picked me up from the airport at 8 am. They hid me in the trunk so that John could find me on a scavenger hunt It was a fun day, and John couldn't believe I came on Christmas day. He thought I was coming a couple days later. ( I'll have to upload the video I have on my hiding in the trunk later)

The best part about Christmas in Cali is that one day we were playing in the mountains in the snow about an hour away from John's house, and the next day we were playing in our swim suits at the beach about 20 minutes from John's house!

And after a great time in Mission Viejo, we drove to San Francisco to visit my family (Hartman and Chelsea and the rest of the gang) as well as John's best friend Corb. John and I spent New Years Eve with Jacob and Katie. We ate dinner at Pizza Organzmica....which was self explanitory(he he), and then we partied all night Salsa Dancing at Cafe Cocamo!

We sat in a really cool launge area with lots of funky pillows and a low table where you sit indian style at with your shoes off! It definitley set the mood
So we all thought it was funny and played into it a bit just for laughs. Jacob decided to order and Odulle to go along with his Pizza, the waitress didn't even know what it was he was ordering? She said that no one had ever ordered a non alcoholic beverage like that before. ha ha!

Jacob and Katie were the Sassy Salsa Masters at the club that night. They owned that dance floor, while John and I were just learning, but still having fun making up some of our own moves.

What a fun night! The next day we all went to the city for a little site seeing.... Golden Gate Bridge, China Town, and all the good stuff.

To finish off the trip, we tried to leave early in the morning to drive back home so that we might miss the snow storm that was coming through the mountains. But we hit it, and ended up driving 30-40 miles an hour most of the way and we had to put chains on the car, not just once, but twice, after they fell off (John hiked about 2 miles in the snow serching for them, poor guy) what a stud he is!

All in all it was a fabulous and exciting Christmas break!

A Lonely Christmas

Christmas is a time to spend with the people you love right? Well, I'll be with most of those people I guess, but not with John....my love. Sad really. He left for home just an hour ago, and now I should be greatful for the time I have to study for my aweful anatomy final, yet all I can do is think about missing John for the next 2 weeks. Even a day or two is hard enough. It's weird to think that we went a month with out seeing eachother over the summer, but that was rediculously hard, two weeks is my limit. After that, phone calls just aren't good enough. I start forgetting the way I feel, and why I love him, and I start losing it all together, that is when you move on. Luckely that difficult month past and the moment I saw him, all the love feelings floaded right back in. But that was early in the relationship. Its been over 8 months now. Two weeks is like 2 months. Feels so long.
I'm trying to think of what I did in my spare time that I would now spend with John.

I spent a lot of time at the gym. (besides work, class, and the library)
I spent extra time socializing with a million different friends, going country and salsa dancing, trying to meet as many people as possible.
Going out to lunch, dinner, and movies with friends
taking road trips with my girl friends
Just living the single life I guess.

Some people can't break away from that cycle. Or some people miss it and end up breaking relationships to go back to the single life.

Me? I'm moving on. I didn't think I'd ever get sick of dating around and exploring all the options or going to parties; but when John and I recently went to a friends "christmas party".. it was nice, but just another college singles party where everybody dresses up in their most fashionabley/hot clothing, eating treats and non-alcoholic drinks (thats BYU). They all just look at everyone else. The girls or guys may scope out thier competition and leave if they don't find enough of the opposite sex. They'll critique eachothers clothing and hair and, try to come up with interesting and witty things to say to one another. They'll talk about what they are studying, or ask where they are from and chat about finals, or how much money they'll make some day, or how much money they made over the summer selling security systems. Some may be truely intested in others and try to get their friends to introduce eachother, maybe get a number or two, plan to do something that they found they both enjoyed, go out, but found that the roommate was way cooler.

Its all fun for a while, but its actually quite exhausting, and in my case its a relief when you find someone you are very compatable with, and someone you would rather spend your free time with.

It'll be a lonely Christmas indeed.

Boyfriends Thanksgiving

Romantic Moments on the beach... this is what happens when I want take a picture.

We found the hot tub at John's moms condo with some bubbles in it, and when we turned on the jets IT WENT CRAZY! So we got all excited and made the best of the situation, hoping that we wouldn't get blamed for it.

On the way home from Knotts Berry Farm (I was still sick from Thanksgiving day) I fell asleep, so John found my heart sticky notes in my purse and covered me with them as I was snoozing in the car. It was actually a funny and pleasent surprise when I woke up. Not only were they all over me, but he surrounded the area of the car around me... funny boy!

In line at Knotts Berry Farm, I actually wasn't feeling well since I was throwing up on Thanksgiving day, but John has many brilliant ways of making me feel better.

Yes, I'm a BYU student, I ran for BYU ..I loved it!... I love the athletics and all that... but I'm not really the rivalry type... I also really like University of Utah and their football team as well. I think they are doing great this year. My friend Jessica and her family are HUGE Utah fans; Jess has two brothers that play on the football team, one of which is a major star on the team Paul Kruger #11... So we decided to take a little trip to the Utah football game in San Diego, and make a ladies weekend out of it! Oh it was a blast. We got some cheep flights and a great deal at the Marriot Hotel and Marina that was right on the bay ...our friend Brooke works for Marriot and got us all the hook-ups! View from our hotel room!

We started out at a huge stake activity on campus, I was starving and all they had to eat were doughnuts and candy... but you could only eat the doughnut if you entered the dang contest... so ... I did, I almost won, but the last piece of my doughnut fell on the ground. Later I found people handing out free doughnuts!! By that time I was over it.

This was the first time John and I really danced together besides disco skating.

My Granddad

I'm certain to have the cutest Granddad in the world. And since I've been living with my Grandparents for the last year, I get an inside view on all the cute elderly things they do. The latest funny event that my Granddad has created happened just the other day. I came home Sunday night from having dinner at my boyfriend’s house, and my grandparents had already gone to bed. I decided to stroll through the kitchen to find something sweet to eat before I went down stairs to my room. My sister Kassi was there having a snack as well and glaring at a very peculiar piece of art sitting on the kitchen counter....

So I began to examine what it was she was looking at. Kassi begins to tell me that it was Granddad's project of the night; he worked on it for about 3 hours. It was a handle from his dresser that had broken off, and being the Fix-It man that he is, He was going to FIX IT!

So he had his glue, strings, plier things, among other tools scattered around the table... and it was set out to dry over night. The next evening (last night) I found Granddad working on it again. Tools scattered, bright working light over head, magnifying glasses on.... this man is SERIOUS! I thought it was cute, but I didn't think much of it. I left to my ward F.H.E. service project at 6:20pm and came back 2 1/2 hours later around 9pm ...only to find Granddad right where I left him. I laughed a little but just went down stairs and waited for John to come over. Around 11pm I went up stairs to get some orange juice, and I found Granddad there in the same exact spot; tools, glue, dresser handle in hand, YET COMPLETELY A SLEEP, AND SNORING! I ran down stairs to get my camera and to tell John what I had just seen.... So I ran back up stairs so that I could snap a picture of my Granddad sleeping while working on this dresser handle... but of course he woke up to the sound of my camera turning on. Dang it! And how would that make me look if he caught me taking a picture of him sleeping sitting up with tools in his hands? So I just hid my camera.. and asked him how his project was coming along... he mumbled something as he realized that he was sleeping on a stool and made his way to his room. Just another day in the life of my Granddad. So cute!

I voted today! And I feel good about it. Standing in line with a bunch of old people I thought to myself, where are all the people my age voting? And then I remembered ...Oh yeah, I live with my grandparents, not in a apartment around all the other college students. Ha ha

So I voted for McCain, but I am not depressed by any means that Obama won instead. Infact I'm feeling more and more better about the whole thing. I think he will do a great job. Go Obama!

So I'm taking anatomy, and today I have my midterm.... I was in the cadaver lab yesterday for my 4th hour of studying for that dang exam.... and feeling pretty confident about my time spent studying in the lab, and feeling prepared, I asked a few other people how much time they have spent in the cadaver lab for the midterm, they all said about 6-7 hours, a few even said 10 hours? ARE YOU KIDDING ME! That is ridiculous! Are they taking any other class, or is this the only one they care about? It's a 3 credit class! If a class requires you to spend that much time studying out side the class in order to learn the material, than we should get more credit! Enough said!

Gettin the Hair Did

Today at 2:30pm I'm getting my hair done after many many months of neglect..... and I have now gotten to the point of wearing a hat 4 days out of the week. My point here is that I can't decide what to do with it... so I checked out some hair do's on line and I really didn't like any of the one's I saw...... but finally I found a couple I like, but I'm not sure my hair would ever look like a VS model. Missing Jess

I work part time at a company called Solacium as an office manager! My friend Jessica was already working there and referred me to the job. Work was actually pretty cool...in our free time we would file folders and chat about boys and funny things that happen. We often took our lunch breaks together, and plan out all the fun things we would do over the weekend and adventures we would go on like biking, river rafting, camping, taking road trips.....

we'd even challenge each other to a fitness competition, and do triathlons together. Our favorite thing at work was to save up all the paper that needed to be shredded and do it all at once so we could use it for a prank on someone... we never actually pulled the prank, but we would have fun filling the office with shredded paper.

But sadly those days are over. Solacium decided to get a new program that basically does all the pay roll which was Jesscia's main job. . . . . . so Jess is gone. . . . . they told her she did a good job, but they no longer needed her at work, and to get a new job. It was a sad day for everyone. Now the office is silent and my days at work consist of: staring at the computer, making calls, ordering supplies, filing, day dreaming, (and blogging. ha ha shhhhh ). I NEED JESS BACK!

Weddings Galore

Another dear dear friend gets married. Candice and Kayle Buchannan, what a beautiful couple! Right before the wedding it had been pouring rain for 2 days straight, but just before they come out of the temple the sun was shining, the air was warm, and everything was dry! Incredible!

Probably one of the best things was seeing my dear friend Diana Hulme.

The length of her hair shows how long it has been since I have seen her.

6 Months and Going Strong

John and I have been dating 6 months now. Yesterday we had a little bi-annual anniversary. He surprised me at work with a bouquet of flowers and a nice little note with candy. Time really flys by when your having fun.

Here are 6 things I love about John Kupper.

1. I can always count on him for anything and he is always there for me, like when my phone broke and I didn't have any money to buy a new one until my next pay check. So he surprised me with a new one, even though we are both not the wealthiest students.

2. John is really good at communicating. He is really good at sweet and sincere compliments. He makes me feel like the most beautiful and talented woman in the world.

3. He always makes me laugh. John is notorious for funny fraises, and imitations. He loves to drive my beat up scooter around town wearing I big furry eskimo hat UNDER the helmet. It is a funny thing to see :) Or him and his buddies seem to always pull their swimming shorts up almost to a speedo to show off their skinny white thighs.

4.John is so smart. Not only is he taking a full load of intense classes like Organic Chemistry. He helps me with my homework and teaches me better studying tactics. We have a class together (Nutrition) and he manages to get a better grade on the exam. I'm always so proud of him, and it makes me want to work harder.

5. I love his sweet testimoney, John is a convert to the church, which I think is pretty cool knowing that he investigated the church on his own and decided for himself he wanted to be a member.

6. And last but certainly not least, John is an incredible kisser, the best ...better than words can explain! The kind that make you weak in the knees and give you butterflys EVERY TIME, I just can't get enough!

John came into town for the 4th of July, and we had a blast.

I played in a Volleyball tournament up in Park City. My partner Jada and I took 3rd place out of 10 teams. We each won about $40 from it which was a first for me so that was a lot of fun. John also played, but wasn't able to get into the sand courts so he was at a different park playing on the grass fields, I didn't get to see him play which was a bummer, but he came and cheered me on my last 2 games.

This is the night of the 4th on BYU campus watching the fire works with (from left to right) Tony, Jessica, John, and Me.

On the 5th of July we tried to get some friends to take us boating, but that didn't work out. Instead we went to "THE ROCK" near Vivian Park up Provo Canyon. Lots of funny weirdos and freezing water, but it felt nice considering the heat that day.

This was Down Town Provo "Festival Days". We walked around for a bit.

Good Byes

We said our last good byes to my brother Hartman and his family on our Sunday picnic at the park. Hartman and Chelsea took their family to live in San Francisco so that he could attend chiropractic school. It will be a big adjustment, but we are all excited for him to pursue his medical interest, and maybe someday he can fix us all up and keep us pain free. Good Luck Hartman.

Grandma (Mom) picked out the baseball cake, which the boys didn’t quite agree with since they like basketball and tennis instead of baseball; and all we had was a “6” for a candle, so we flipping it up side down after blowing it out and made it a “9”!

RUN, DRIVE, SLEEP? REPEAT!

This is the annual Wasatch Back Relay! It was my first time! So basically you run on a team of 12 people (2 vans) from Logan to Park City through the Wasatch Back, which I am now convinced is the most beautiful parts of Utah! Each person runs 3 legs of the race from anywhere between 3 to 9 miles. There were 500 teams this year which is doubled from last year! I had the best legs of the race... shhhh don't tell anyone! They were each about 5-6 miles, and all were moderate run, meaning they were too hard! I ran at 2pm on Friday, 12:30 am on Saturday and 5:30 am again on Saturday. I averaged about 7:30 min miles which was good for me. AND I have decided that runners are the nicest people in the world! I guess I already knew that, but had forgotten. I was in a van with my friend Laura and 4 complete strangers, 3 of which were over the age of 50, and by the end of the trip I was sad to part with my new friends that we had bonded with so well.

Laura Taylor started the race for us as the first leg. She is an incredible runner, I was proud to be apart of her team!

This was my first leg 5.6 miles in the middle of the day and boy was it hot! I was lucky to have the van along side of me. This is my buddy Scott giving me water as I run.

The views along the Wasatch Back were almost too good to be real! It was the perfect time of year. Everything was green, wild flowers everywhere, green rolling hills, rocky mountains, goats, cows, and horses everywhere. It was great. I am truely a country girl at heart!

Between our legs we would sit in the shade and try to sleep, but it was almost impossible with so much going on at each exchange zone. They had free pasta, smoothies, home made granola, massages, showers!

This was my second leg, the night run around 12am. It was required to wear a head lamp and a reflector shirt. I felt really good on this run, it was cool outside, I didn't need any water, the stars and moon were soooo bright and I had passed about 14 people on this leg, we called them our milkshakes! I had about 34 milk shakes by the end of the race!

This is early in the morning around 5:30 am. We ran along the lake as the sun rose. Breathtaking!

As we stopped and waited for my friend Laura so we could cheer her on and give her water, I made friends with some horses. It started out slow but soon they all came swarming wanting attantion... or wanted to eat my clothes???

Each vehical decorated their cars in a theme according to their team name. This car was the Holy Mammoths I believe. Some vehicals really went all out!

This was my last leg around 8am 5.1 miles. beautiful weather, and autmosphere!

As part of our theme "I drink Your Milkshake" which is a line from the movie "There will be blood" (a movie I had never seen, but we just went along with it) we all wore mustashes to run into the finish line as a team! It was a memerable thing!

WE WERE SORE, TIRED, AND IT HURT TO WALK BUT... WE DID IT!

Summer Visits To See My Man

I got to go visit John in Mission Viejo. He picked me up from the Long Beach Airport with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. And after dinner a movie, when we arrived at his home, I found a big gift basket with all sorts of goodies including INSTYLE magazines, lotions, gum, a tooth brush, sun screen, candles, a red biking sweater, first aid kit ha ha, and chocolates! Yes, he takes good care of me...... jeez! He goes over board!

John is a great volleyball player! Thats one of the things I really like that about him. We can play together really well too, and he helps me improve which is always a good thing!

John took me to the Brad Paisley concert in L.A. it was a blast for sure. John may not be the biggest country fan...but its beginning to grow in him I know it! :)

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT VIEW, I just love California, it was perfect weather, we played some volleyball, layed out, swam in the ocean, did some exercises on the bars, read, relaxed and just enjoyed one anothers company. Can't get much better than that!

This is at Lake Mead with my Andersen cousins, they always show us a good time in Vegas. Sometimes I never want to leave.... look at that water!

I just got a new long board to add to my summer fun. My friend Jessica Kruger gets me excited to do different things, she also helps me shop around for the best deals, something I hate doing!

So, I borrowed a bike from my friend Pat for a Duathlon race that Jessica and I had signed up for in May. I completed the race in first place for the women which was awesome, but the next day I decided to take the bike out one more time before returning it. And I ended up over correcting and going off the bike trail when I was coming down Provo Canyon. Luckly the bike was easy to fix up, and I was also luck to be wearing pants or this cut would have been a lot worse!

Rock Climbing out doors rather than indoors, is actually very different. I like being out doors personally yet it can be harder and a little more risky. I'm lucky enough to have cool friends that do cool things, have all the right gear, and like to invite me along since they know I'll try just about anything.

This is 5 Days after getting hit in the head with a Wakeboard last summer. It was a simple fall, but I was wearing a board that was perhaps too big, and the boat may have been going a little too fast for wakeboarding.
It left me with two black eyes, a swollen nose bridge, and a funky scar between the eyes. But does that stop me? No no, now I'm just more careful about who I let drive the boat, and when I fall I find my self putting my hands up to guard my face.

I try hard to jump the wake, but mostly I get scared to really catch serious air... I'll keep working on that.

Summers are the best! And I would feel confident in saying that Utah summers are exceptionally AWESOME with the lakes, mountains, rivers, hot sun shine, and fun people. Only thing lacking is the beach! Let’s just imagine Utah Lake was the Ocean! WOW, Perfection! Utah would be the #1 place to live. Of course it wouldn’t be the same but still nice to think about.

I have now joined the world of Blogging. Hopefully this won't take up too much time, because I seem to be the kind of person that checks facebook everyday. But I'm going to give it a try. Plus, I like the idea of having my own little spot to write some things that people might read. Sure, its a good way to keep those who want to know up dated on my life, or just get to know me a little better.
